The Ojai-Ventura International Film Festival (november 5 – 8, 2009) celebrates two milestones this year: its 10th anniversary and joining forces with the City of Ventura to bring its selection of world class feature, short, animated and documentary films to an even broader audience. Also, each year the Festival bestows Lifetime Achievement Awards on industry icons and a Limelight Award on the best film submitted by a student filmmaker.

The Festival is overseen by a passionate board of community leaders, film industry veterans and members of the greater business community. The Festival also boasts a litany of high-profile advisory board members including Ellen DeGeneres, Colin Farrell, Robert Friedman, Matthew Perry, Peter Strauss, Sally Kellerman and Diane Ladd.

Like last year, I plan on doing another birthday project for Matthew Perry’s 40th birthday this August. Last year we had a special birthday page with birthday messages from fans around the world. We also raised money in honor of Matthew Perry’s birthday for the Lili Claire Foundation! Both were a big hit.

This year I want to do something different, but I’m just a bit short on good ideas. So far I came up with gathering pictures of fans holding signs that say “Happy birthday Matthew” or something else creative which will be added into a (music) video for Matthew. Or maybe record a short video with you wishing Matthew a happy birthday or signing happy birthday to him.

Suggestions are welcome!

Matthew Perry took the stage at Club Largo in LA on June 15 to do a reading for Celebrity Autobiography: In Their Own Words. He was joined by other celebs like Ryan Reynolds to read from memoirs of fellow Hollywood stars that may not have been intended as funny but take on a new meaning when read aloud to the audience.

Just a short update! I got everything working again and installed Wordpress 2.8 while I was at it. I have to say the site is loading much faster right now? Must be the new server we’re on!
